Applying a degree in horticulture, and graduate studies in landscape garden history, Isabel Wheat became principal of a landscape design, installation and maintenance company. Wheat Landscape Gardening and Design has executed property plans which include the renovation of numerous private properties, estates and gardens across New England for over twenty years. One historic landscape garden designed by Fletcher Steele was recently toured by the prestigious Boston Horticulture Club and the New York Hortus Club.
Ms. Wheat has been a Judge at the New England Spring Flower Show, has organized and led historic garden tours throughout the Eastern United States and has been frequently published.
